The Dual Pathways of Self-Expression and Active Listening
The need
for self-expression, arising from the depths of one's soul, is essential for
communicating and connecting with others from childhood, regardless of whether
it is coupled with one's self-esteem needs. There is a great variety of means
for self-expression, and different individuals have different strong suits
among these means. Given these traits of self-expression, it can be said that
the more proficient you become at utilizing some of these means, the higher the
chances of building better relationships with others. However, the opposite is
also true: the more proficient you become at being an active listener, the
greater your chances of building better relationships with others.
