The Boiling Frog Phenomenon
The
Boiling Frog is a well-known phenomenon that describes the state of not
perceiving danger until it is too late to deal with, due to being unaware of
the slow process of marginal changes in both internal and external situations.
Without being sensitive to detecting these changes in a highly conscious
manner, it is difficult for us to realize the course of change, similar to the
intellectual salami slicing tactics. These changes have demonstrably been
occurring in various unrestricted corners of Japanese society and are gradually
becoming apparent only to those who are truly attuned to marginal changes until
now.
