Visualize Success
Even when the barrier to overcome is not
exceptionally high, it is important for beginners to gather and study relevant
textual and visual information beforehand when attempting something somewhat
challenging. However, information alone is not enough; it can be highly
effective to use it to visualize ourselves tackling the challenge efficiently
according to a planned sequence of steps, imagining our actions throughout the
entire process and repeating this visualization several times. When we actually
undertake the task, unexpected issues may arise and reveal areas for
improvement, but we are often still able to achieve a largely satisfactory
result. I experienced this recently while removing moss that had accumulated on
the exterior walls of my home, gaining a modest but genuine sense of
satisfaction and accomplishment in the process.
